Join us for an evening of your favourite jazz standards, sung by an all-star cast of Newfoundland and Labrador talent: Heather Bambrick, Jodee Richardson, Katie Hopkins and Evan Smith, accompanied by Jazz East Big Band. You’ll hear songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Nancy Wilson and more!
Directed by national treasure Bill Brennan, this programme will feature classic arrangements for vocals and jazz orchestra by Nelson Riddle, Quincy Jones, Phil Nimmons and a host of other world-class arrangers. It will highlight composers central to The Great American Songbook - Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, and Victor Young; songs like "Too Darn Hot","The Lady is a Tramp", "That's Life", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "I've Got a Crush on You" and "Cheek to Cheek".
